Public Relations and Cybersecurity
摘要
Public relations (PR) and cybersecurity are two closely interconnected fields in today’s digital age. The success of PR operations relies heavily on trust and transparency in communicating with the public, which can be significantly impacted by cyberattacks. Studies show that companies and organizations affected by cyberattacks often suffer from reputational damage and loss of public trust, negatively influencing their PR efforts. Conversely, effective PR strategies can mitigate the reputational damage caused by cybersecurity breaches, helping maintain the organization’s public image. PR’s role in cybersecurity extends beyond crisis management and communication during cyberattacks. It also plays a crucial part in enhancing public confidence by conveying positive messages about the organization’s security efforts. The study’s findings indicate that PR and cybersecurity should be integrated into a comprehensive strategy aimed at managing crises and protecting the organization’s reputation. Furthermore, the research highlights that investing in the integration of PR and cybersecurity can significantly improve a company’s resilience and reputation in the face of increasing digital security threats.
