This article evaluates the potential of the AI-based reconnaissance system for detecting, identifying, and monitoring chemical hazards. The system was developed within the EU-funded research and development activities under the European Sensor System for CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear) Applications (EU-SENSE) project (2019–2021). The research problem focuses on the impact of the system on airport security with a focus on operational areas and training. By analysing a use case concerning the EU-SENSE system application in the airport, the authors identified the system’s key parameters and thus evidenced its potential for airport security. Future studies may explore the application of the system in other areas related to critical infrastructure and transport.

摘要
