Mapping Research in the Field of Low Carbon Electrical Energy. A Bibliometric Analysis
摘要
This paper aims to uncover the status of knowledge about of the use of low carbon energy sources to generate electric energy. Despite the increasing attention devoted to the field, the decarbonised electricity is still young and needs a better characterization based on a quantitative analysis of the scientific production. A bibliometric review on electrical energy powered by low carbon sources from 2000 to 2023 was conducted on Dimensions database and scientometrically analysed using VOSviewer software (version 1.6.20) employing co-authorship analysis by authors, institutions and countries. The main findings of this paper are that over the studied interval the topic increased exponentially, accounting for publications for all 17 sustainable development goals, mainly published on open access policy by influential organizations, mainly established in the UK. The results of this analysis might be useful to researchers and policy makers in the field of energy, but also may increase awareness of the public about the need of a right behaviour towards a decarbonised future.
