Taqiyya bint Ghayth al-Suriyya (1111–1184) was an Arabic poet of Fatimid Egypt who lived into the Ayyubid era. Coming from a family of prominent Islamic scholars, she trained as a traditionist, or as a transmitter of hadith (the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad), but she is celebrated mostly as an accomplished and versatile poet. Unfortunately, her extant verses are relatively scant.
