Herrad of Hohenbourg, also known as Herrad of Landsberg (c. 1130–95), was abbess of the independent Augustinian nunnery of Hohenbourg, Alsace, during the last quarter of the twelfth century. There, she oversaw and contributed to a lengthy work entitled the Hortus Deliciarum (Garden of Delights). This extensive manuscript, now lost, extended to 323 folios of text and images recounting an elaborate and comprehensive Christian history depicted in terms of a garden of intellectual and visual delights.
