Reciprocal Learning between Chinese and Western Cultures and the Innovation of School Life: Principals’ Perspectives
摘要
Minzhu Primary School in Shanghai and Bay Street School in Toronto have been in close collaboration for ten years. The fruits of this partnership include deeper intercultural understanding, increased national self-confidence, and enhanced growth experiences for both sides. In this chapter, we, the principals of Minzhu Primary, reflect on the decade-long reciprocal learning and collaboration between our schools. We show how this international sister school partnership motivated Minzhu to commit to further develop cross-cultural reciprocal learning activities, engage in curriculum innovation, and promote mutually beneficial international communication. We believe that our accomplishment of these goals will help teachers and students broaden their horizons, open their minds, activate their cross-cultural awareness, and invigorate their school lives.
