CSR Discourses: Three Examples
摘要
This chapter uses three themes, the “world” of women, well-being, and managership featured in Pirelli’s CSR, to exemplify how a discourse on a specific CSR topic can be developed through the use of corporate journals and, more generally, the corporate press. The first section is devoted to the female universe and provides a long-term reading of the transformation of the view of women in the corporate magazine, along with a study of the evolution of women’s roles: woman, mother and worker/professional (Sect. 3.1). The theme of welfare, second paragraph, focuses on the analysis of changes in corporate welfare actions and, above all, investigates how individual instruments have finally led to the establishment of an all-inclusive platform dedicated to the needs of workers (Sect. 3.2). Finally, the last topic explores the construction of Pirelli’s managerial class. From this point of view, it has emerged that, first of all, the company has constituted and been the bearer of its own “managerial style,” which is recognized and recognizable, and, through the training of managers, has passed it on to the management team, with the aim of constituting a class with a unity of purpose for the achievement of business success (Sect. 3.3).
