摘要
Recursion is a relevant property of our cognitive system. It is paradigmatically shown in language and also in other human activities, such as art, architecture or religion. Recursion is part of our scientific culture and we use it to solve complex problems with small steps, but it is also part of nature, as shown by the growth patterns of some plants. This text traces the varieties of recursion as a cultural artefact and as a natural property.
