摘要

The growing utilization of Ocimum plants as multifunctional green adsorbents has emerged as an eco-friendly and cost-effective solution for removing pollutants, attracting significant attention. This article delves into the expanding realm of possibilities that Ocimum based adsorbents offer, examining their potential in adsorption, photocatalysis, and corrosion inhibition for the benefit of various industries and environmental concerns. In addition to the utilization of extracts of Ocimum species of plants, this article highlights the increasing interest in Ocimum-based nanoparticles and nanocomposites. These nanomaterials offer excellent adsorption and photocatalytic properties for removal of dye effluents and heavy metals further enriching the landscape of environmental and industrial applications. Corrosion, especially in industrial settings, poses a significant challenge, often leading to the release of heavy metals into the environment. Natural inhibitors derived from Ocimum species have shown promising results in preventing corrosion, mitigating the environmental impact.
