Gold Investment is an investment that is made by all types of investors, urban and rural. Investment in gold is a generational inheritance in Indian culture for all types of investors. This paper studies residents of Bengaluru Rural districts namely Nelamangala and Hoskote with their investment behaviour in gold. The patterns of investment concentrate on one specific investment which is the most preferred investment among the Investors—GOLD. This study compares the physical form of gold invested at different age groups. The trends of Investment patterns are analyzed and tested for two sets of generations with statistical tools of T-test and Chi-square applied for the primary data collected through a questionnaire. The comparative study that gets tackled in this paper constitutes Generation Y who are the ones born between 1981 and 1996 and Generation X who are born between 1965 and 1980. This study aims at bringing out the factors influencing the investment behaviour of the rural investor. Gold investment is treated as a social obligation and a culturally significant asset to be invested by rural investors. The age group and income level are the study examined as per the statistical tests conducted to test the hypothesis.
