Adolescence, as defined by the World Health Organization, is the developmental stage that follows childhood and precedes adulthood, encompassing individuals aged 13 to 19. This phase is marked by significant growth and transformation, representing one of the most crucial transitions in human development, second only to infancy. Mental health refers to a state of emotional and psychological well-being, enabling individuals to utilize their cognitive and emotional skills, engage effectively in society, and handle the routine challenges of daily life. Social support encompasses various forms of communication that enhance an individual's confidence regarding their circumstances, fostering a sense of control. This research focuses on the perceived social support and mental health of adolescents in Kozhikode District, Kerala, utilizing the Mental Health Inventory-38, created by Davies, Sherbourne, Peterson, and Ware in 1998, alongside the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) developed by Zimet, Dahlem, Zimet, and Farley in 1988. The data was analysed using statistical techniques and the results based on the same are concluded in the research.
