The study investigates the financial habits of college students, focusing on their savings and investment behaviors. It examines factors influencing these decisions, such as financial literacy, access to financial services, family background, and peer influence. The questionnaire will provide insights into students’ financial attitudes, preferences for savings instruments, and investment options. The research aims to understand age-related motivation to choose between savings and investments and the factors influencing their decisions. The study aims to analyse college students’ current savings habits, investment behavior, investment preferences, age-related motivation to choose between savings and investments, and understand factors influencing their decisions. In the study, data acquired is primary data, i.e. a questionnaire, and the study garned around 110 responses. This research uses statistical software SPSS to conduct the study. The study analysed demographic data using frequency distribution, regression, and correlation tests. The study analysed data from 110 college students, revealing that the most common age group was 22–25 years old, followed by 18–21 years old and below 18 years old. Postgraduates were the most respondents, with 53.6% having no income. No significant correlation was found between saving money and preferred methods or investments, but a moderately positive correlation was found between age and motivation for saving and investments. The regression test confirmed a significant relationship between age and these variables.
