Foundations of Strength Training
摘要
This chapter focuses on the foundational principles, facilities, equipment, and methodologies essential for effective strength training programs tailored to human weapon system (HWS) professionals. It discusses the guiding principles of strength training, such as specificity, overload, and variation, and their application in program design. Key considerations for facility layout and equipment selection—both in garrison and deployed settings—focus on safety, efficiency, and functionality. The authors explore resistance training techniques to build strength, size, and power, emphasizing the importance of proper exercise order, intensity, and recovery in maximizing performance and minimizing injury risk. Additionally, this chapter highlights the integration of modern technologies, such as velocity-based training and video analysis, to optimize training outcomes and enhance the adaptability of strength training programs for the unique demands of HWS professionals.
