Individualised Measures
摘要
This chapter focuses on individualised patient-reported outcome measures (iPROMs) and their role in personalised care. Unlike generic or condition-specific measures, iPROMs allow patients to identify and prioritize their unique concerns, aligning healthcare interventions with what matters most to them. The chapter explores key individualised measures, including MYCaW (Measure Yourself Concerns and Wellbeing) and the Person-Specific Outcome (PSO) measure. MYCaW, originally designed for cancer support, enables patients to rate two primary concerns and overall wellbeing using a seven-point scale. The PSO is a brief and adaptable measure, which captures patient-specific concerns with four response options and is designed for clinical settings where quick assessments are needed. Both measures emphasize simplicity, brevity, and ease of integration into care plans, making them valuable in complex cases involving multiple long-term conditions. The chapter concludes that iPROMs, when combined with generic measures, enhance patient-centered care by providing actionable insights for tailored treatment and improved quality of life.
