摘要

In this work, we summarize recent contributions related to the use of the topological derivative as a mathematical tool for solving inverse problems involving the detection of objects or flaws inside a medium. Additionally, we illustrate its performance when processing data obtained in nondestructive tests. These tests are performed by exciting different media at several frequencies using active infrared thermography, electromagnetic waves, acoustic waves, and Lamb guided waves.
