Frequency Regulation Control Method for Wind Energy Storage Based on VSG

In recent years, wind power has further developed, and clean and renewable energy forms are the direction of future power development. Permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) lacks the inertia support capability of traditional synchronous generator sets. Although virtual synchronous generators (VSG) can provide inertia and damping for the system, the application of VSG may bring new problems to the stability of the power system, such as insufficient inertia support. This article proposes a wind storage joint frequency regulation control method based on VSG control to address this issue. First, a mathematical model of battery energy storage system (BESS) is constructed. Second, BESS is integrated into a virtual synchronous generator based on Permanent magnet synchronous generator (VSG-PMSG) technology. Finally, effective management of system frequency was achieved by utilizing the droop control characteristics. The simulation findings demonstrate that the wind storage integrated frequency modulation control system has better frequency response attributes.
