Considering the current challenges brought forth by the Anthropocene crisis and claiming that technological solutions, although necessary, are not sufficient, this paper emphasizes the need for an ethical approach that goes beyond the inter-human walls, equating life in its broadest meaning and appealing to the moral excellence of human agency. In this sense, grounded in Taylor's ethical approach, we contend that the practical effectiveness of regulative principles of environmental action also demands the agent’s moral strength. In our view, the development of a virtuous character, outlined by a wide range of virtues along with rules and principles, and forged in pedagogical programs committed to environmental citizenship, is the right way to respect nature and overcome the climate emergency.

摘要
