Post residency passing the written and oral boards to become board certified is essential. After that, maintenance of certification (MOC) is a requirement to remain board certified. Continuing medical education (CME) provides a pathway for remaining current, improving daily practice with practice improvement activities and maintaining board certification. Multitude of options for CME exist, these include completion of required articles for MOC provided yearly by American Board of OBGYN (ABOG), conferences, grand rounds, and other educational activities. Conference participation maintains appropriate level of knowledge and facilitates networking with colleagues.
