Sediment Connectivity Index
摘要
This chapter focuses on theSediment connectivity Sediment Connectivity Index (SCI) to assess sediment transport dynamics in theDamodar river basin Damodar River Basin (DRB), with an emphasis on sub-basin-wise connectivity. The research calculates the SCI for each sub-basin to quantify the efficiency of sediment flow from erosion hotspots to sediment deposition zones within the basin. The study highlights important places that affect sediment transportation and dynamics by analyzing the interaction betweenSoil erosion hotspot Soil Erosion Hotspots (SEH) and the Connectivity Index (IC). The findings reveal the most connective sub-basins within the DRB, indicating areas with high sediment delivery potential and strong linkage to downstream sedimentation. Understanding these connections is essential for targeting soil conservationSoil conservation efforts and improving sediment management strategies in the basin. This chapter provides valuable insights for optimizing watershed managementWatershed management, mitigating erosion, and enhancing the overall health and sustainability of the Damodar River Basin’s hydrological systems.
