On July 23, 2023, the army of the Russian Federation launched a massive missile attack on the historic center of Odesa. The building complex of the Counts Tolstoy, an architectural monument of national importance, was heavily damaged in terms of load-bearing structures and interiors [1]. The development area includes four buildings: a palace, an art gallery building, and administrative buildings. The territory of the inner Summer Garden is an integral part of the complex. Designed by G. I. Torricelli in 1832, it is a unique fully preserved example of Odesa’s urban planning of the first half of the 19th century. The pearl of the complex, the Palace, is one of the most prominent mansions of the city of the Classicism period. The Palace is situated in the historic center of Odesa, which was included into the World Heritage List according to the UNESCO Committee’s resolution on January 25, 2023. Some structures and members are in an “emergency” technical condition after the explosive shock wave. The damage has led to the building’s complete decommissioning. There is a threat of losing authentic interiors due to the destruction of the window and door glazing, and critical deformations of the roof’s supporting structures. The purpose of the research is to identify and record the destruction of the bearing and enclosing Palace structures of the Counts Tolstoy, to give the recommendations for emergency works for their safe operation.

The building complex of the Counts Tolstoy, an architectural monument of national importance, was heavily damaged in terms of load-bearing structures and interiors [1]. The Palace is situated in the historic center of Odesa, which was included into the World Heritage List according to the UNESCO Committee’s resolution on January 25, 2023.
