Climate change presents critical challenges to mango (Mangifera indica) production, directly impacting fruit quality through rising temperatures, erratic rainfall, and increased pest and disease pressure. These environmental changes contribute to physiological disorders such as fruit cracking, sunburn, and uneven ripening, reducing the market value and consumer appeal of mangoes. Adaptive strategies are essential to sustain mango quality under these changing conditions. Pre-harvest practices like fruit bagging provide a protective barrier against environmental stressors, pests, and diseases while enhancing fruit appearance and reducing chemical pesticide use. Developing biodegradable bagging materials offers a sustainable alternative to conventional options. Additionally, breeding programs focused on climate-resilient mango cultivars with heat and drought tolerance and improved disease resistance are vital for long-term sustainability. Post-harvest interventions, such as advanced storage techniques and modified atmospheric packaging, play a critical role in preserving mango quality during distribution and extending shelf life. Agroforestry systems, optimized irrigation schedules, and predictive climate models further aid in adapting mango cultivation to climate variability. This chapter highlights the need for integrated strategies combining traditional knowledge and scientific innovations to address the multifaceted impacts of climate change on mango quality. Scalable solutions, farmer training, and economic feasibility are pivotal for ensuring sustainable mango production for local and global markets.
