Citizen Science: Unlocking Skills and Experience for University Students in Hungary
摘要
Understanding biodiversity-both in our immediate surroundings and globally-is particularly critical in the era the global biodiversity loss. Citizen science presents a valuable opportunity to engage with this challenge, and university students can make significant contributions to such programs. However, as revealed by the findings of this study conducted in one of the largest university in the field of natural sciences in Hungary, the majority of students lack essential knowledge about citizen projects of great relevance and how to effectively participate in them. This indicates the need for integrations of the use of important online community databases and participations in citizen science programs in higher education.
