This chapter explores the transition from the traditional linear biofuel supply chain to a circular model, emphasizing integrating sustainable practices and innovative technology. The importance of circular economy (CE) principles in biofuels is explained, especially in terms of their role in dealing with the environment and challenges related to conventional biofuel systems. Important challenges such as resource dependency, environmental impact, and policy limitations are discussed and followed by strategies to achieve circularity. This includes waste valorization, feedstock optimization, and using renewable energy sources. The chapter highlights advanced technological innovations such as pyrolysis and hydrothermal processes and the role of digital tools in optimizing supply chains. In addition, the chapter also studies the economic and policy framework that enables the development of renewable biofuel systems, and the insights and lessons are drawn from the case studies on renewable biofuel implementations.

摘要
