Monoclonal Antibodies to Calcitonin Gene-Related-Peptide and Its Receptor for Migraine Prevention
摘要
Prevention of episodic and chronic migraine is traditionally treated with nonspecific medications such as anti-hypertensives, antidepressants, and anti-epileptic medications. More recently, medications targeting calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) and its receptor have been found to be effective in migraine prevention, available in subcutaneous, intravenous, and oral forms. This chapter will focus on the evidence and recommendations for CGRP monoclonal antibodies, as well as their use and their impact in clinical practice.
