Complementary and Integrative Medicine for the Treatment of Migraine
摘要
Complementary and integrative medicine for the treatment of migraine aims to reduce the frequency, duration, and intensity of attacks. Natural supplements, mind-body medicine, and body-based techniques may be used in combination with pharmacological therapy to reach this goal. This chapter reviews nutraceutical products, such as riboflavin, magnesium, and CoQ10. We also review the evidence behind mind-body medicine, manipulative, and body-based techniques such as physical therapy and exercise. Complementary and integrative medicine may be useful in patients who have had negative experiences with pharmacological therapy alone. Providers should be well versed in these techniques as well as the potential safety concerns in order to counsel patients.
