Emergency radiology is the most unique and flexible subspecialty within radiology. As radiology departments within hospitals continue to grow and service more and more varied types of patients, a need arose to develop a separate division within imaging departments. Emergency radiology fellowships became necessary as different emergency divisions increased across the country. This is the fastest-growing imaging fellowship.
