Recent advancements in communication, processing, storage, and sensing have led to a significant shift in business operations, known as digital transformation. This transformation aims to use data effectively through scalable digital solutions, especially in an era dominated by AI, machine learning, cloud computing, and IoT. A key concept in this transformation is digital twins, which refers to a digital representation of a tangible item or process which provides real-time insights for decision-making. This paper discusses the current literature on approaches, frameworks, and tools for representing a physical element’s digital twin and traces its origins from a basic CAD description to a dynamic model in a continuous feedback loop with the real world. This paper proposes also an approach for streamlining the usage of digital twin technology based on Microsoft Azure tool.

摘要
