This study focuses on the seasonal variations of organic pollutants in PM2.5 in Anyang, a typical industrial city in central China. PM2.5 samples from four seasons were analyzed using GC - MS. The extraction methods for organic chemicals were developed. The results show that acetonitrile has a higher extraction efficiency than dichloromethane for PM2.5 samples. Among all the samples, the sample with the most determined types of organic substances contains 24 kinds of organics. Alkanes and phenols are the organic substances with the highest detection frequencies. The concentration of organic pollutants in winter is higher than that in other seasons, indicating a greater harmful for human health. This research provides valuable insights for air pollution control strategies in severely polluted areas in China.
