Ecological Security Pattern Construction and Ecological Restoration Zoning Based on Ecological Protection Red Line

This study takes Yueyang County as the study area, adopts the optimization method of ecological protection red line to identify the ecological source in all directions, and applies the minimum cumulative resistance surface to identify the ecological corridor and ecological strategic points, so as to construct the ecological security pattern of Yueyang County, which is “one screen, two corridors” and “two nuclei and multiple points”. The ecological security pattern of Yueyang County will be constructed. Combined with the ecological importance evaluation, ecological sensitivity evaluation and ecological security classification, ecological restoration zoning was carried out, and corresponding ecological restoration and protection suggestions were made. Results: 1. Yueyang County has a high ecological importance rating, with 61.45% of the area of high importance and above; the ecological sensitivity rating of Yueyang County is low sensitivity, with 92.62% of the area being insensitive. 2. A total of 32 ecological corridors and 42 ecological strategic points have been extracted. 3. The overall ecological security level of Yueyang County is high, but the corridors in the southeastern part of the county are dense but the strategic points are sparse, and the network connectivity is not high.3. Yueyang County is divided into four major ecological restoration zones, namely, the East Dongting Lake Biodiversity and Hydro-ecological Restoration Zone, the Habitat Comprehensive Improvement and Ecological Restoration Zone, the Agricultural Ecological Improvement and Hydro-ecological Restoration Zone, and the Mountainous Water Source Nourishment and Soil and Water Conservation Restoration Zone. On this basis, ecological protection is proposed to realize the landscape and idyllic urban and rural spatial structure, and to establish a new land-use pattern with a beautiful habitat.
