Seismic Performance of Concrete with RA
摘要
This chapter examines the seismic performance of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) under different conditions. It reviews experiments on semi-precast RAC columns and the seismic behavior of RAC beams in frame joints. Using finite element analysis and parametric studies, the chapter assesses the effectiveness of RAC in resisting seismic forces. Results show that RAC’s performance in seismic applications can be comparable to that of conventional concrete, provided the right mix designs and reinforcement strategies are used. The chapter provides insights into improving RAC's seismic resilience for practical building applications.
