摘要

Urbanization is a persistent global trend. Land use changes in India over the last 10 years have converted into urban settlements due to population growth and metropolitan expansion. At the riparian region of Siddhi hill of the Shrirur town, development causes expansion of urban area foot of hill, groundwater level rise due to recharge to aquifer system is the effect of high rainfall resulting in a myriad of problems including basement water, additional hydraulic pressure exerted on buried structure beyond the implications of groundwater level change-resistant of at such area primarily concerned with the fluctuation of the water table and unpredictability of groundwater use and reliance. With the development of the site, long-term mounting projects should be started to document groundwater conditions before, during, and after development. Gravity water is a serious issue from the basement of the building which is constructed at the toe of the hill. This causes property loss, furniture as well as money loss. Sometimes we have to shift the basement temporarily with good planning and by using some suitable techniques to control this problem.
