This chapter outlines a comprehensive design methodology for frequency-coded (FC) tags, covering key aspects from electromagnetic (EM) analysis and circuit modeling of common tag topologies, such as circular ring resonators (CRRs) and split ring resonators (SRRs). The chapter further continues with the optimization of key parameters in the backscattered response, including bandwidth (BW) and the independence of resonant frequencies, and concludes with strategies for optimizing read range. Based on the state of the art in the field, the guidelines provided are valuable for both EM signature encoding and sensing applications.

摘要

This chapter outlines a comprehensive design methodology for frequency-coded (FC) tags, covering key aspects from electromagnetic (EM) analysis and circuit modeling of common tag topologies, such as circular ring resonators (CRRs) and split ring resonators (SRRs). The chapter further continues with the optimization of key parameters in the backscattered response, including bandwidth (BW) and the independence of resonant frequencies, and concludes with strategies for optimizing read range. Based on the state of the art in the field, the guidelines provided are valuable for both EM signature encoding and sensing applications.
