Employee retention plays an important role in the higher educational institutions. Educational institutions follow some important strategies to retention the employees. The main intension of planning the strategies towards employee retention is to minimize the employee turnover rate for sustainable growth of the educational institutions in long run. Educational institutions are struggling to implement strategies to retain the capable manpower in workplace. Increased employee turnover will consequently have an impact on efficiency and sustainability of the educational institutions. Employee retention is essential to an organization to accomplish its objectives and to enhance the financial steadiness. Higher educational institutions have to follow the effective retention strategies to encourage the employee to remain in their workplace for maximum period of time. Whenever the employees get dissatisfaction in their job they are switch over to other educational institution within short span of time. The higher educational institutions have to motivate the employees by providing incentives, rewards and recognition which will increase the job satisfaction level of employees. The policies and practices regarding work culture have to be conversed to employees clearly when they step into the educational institutions which will be helpful to reduce the turnover ratio. At present the stress level of the employees in higher educational institutions have been increased due to poor work culture which directly increases the turnover ratio of employees. The current study is focused towards the educational institutions interventional strategies to look after the employees retention such as Training and development, flexible work schedule, promote a work-life balance, Work Recognition, compensation, emphasis on team work, on boarding Programs, Mentorship, workers welfare measures and opportunity for growth. The objective of the study is to ascertain that how the work culture and HRM Practice may affect the employee retention in Educational Institution. A study collected data through structured questionnaire by choosing 250 samples from higher educational institutions located in and throughout the city of Bangalore. The result of this study revealed that employee retention strategies significantly reduce the employees’ turnover rate.
