The prime goal of this paper is to understand the conditions, issues, and challenges faced by the LGBTQ community in India through the existing research publications from India and other nations. The discrimination of gender is a historical problem in India among males and females. It not only prevails among male and female discrimination, it also extends to the LGBTQ community too (commonly known as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer). They are not being treated properly as human beings. They have been discriminated against in many forms such as workplace, social, legal, and economic. India has a vast tradition of LGBTQ+ with numerous courageous personnel fighting for basic and relevant legal rights. The objectives of this paper are to review the significance of the legal rights of the LGBTQ community in India and analyse the gender discrimination and living conditions among the LGBTQ community. Almost all LGBTQ adults do not share their poor living status in public due to rejection and negative responses. It is also identified in many types of research that LGBTQ individuals face disturbances from their own families and surroundings. These issues arise due to misunderstanding and miscommunication of their gender identity and appearance. Because of these conflicts, the LGBTQs are evicted from their homes and forced to live in open spaces on the rear sides of the road. Overall, their social, economic, living, working and legal status are vulnerable and require strong policy and legal support for empowerment.
