This paper studies FTS (finite-time stability) for discrete-time linear systems with time-varying delay. A novel approximation of the single summation that appears in the LKF (Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional) is studied using an innovative Free-Matrix-Based-Integral (FMBI) inequality. This has led to proposing new conditions formulated as LMIs that ensure FTS. Finally, a numerical example shows the method’s efficacy.
