This research chapter addresses the art of different composting techniques and agroecological practices applied in food waste management through theoretical documentary analysis, considering the management of agri-food solid waste and the application of composting. The methodology used was based on a literature review in databases (Springer, Science Direct, Taylor & Francis, etc.) utilizing the Boolean operators: “Food waste management, composting techniques, agroecological practices” to generate the information analysis and identify the main composting techniques applied in food waste management. The main findings of the research were presented: (1) current and future perspectives in food waste management; (2) classification of different composting techniques in agroecological practices for food waste management. In conclusion, the study presents the potential of food waste management through composting in agroecological practices to reduce its impact on the natural environment and humanity.
