The world’s population has massively blasted in the past few decades; therefore, human beings are havocking the earth’s climatic conditions to arrange their proper nutritious food. However, lousy food wastage habits always influence any country’s environment, economy, and development. Wasted food accounts for negligible value and is nonconsumable, and contains different organic compositions such as starch, natural acid, fats, amino acids, etc. The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has presented horrible data that nearly one-third of all food is wasted per year globally. Food wastage is devastating, causing significant emissions of greenhouse gases and soil fertility loss. The recovery of resources from waste food is always beneficial in diminishing the adverse global issues caused by food wastage. Highly valuable products such as nutrients, fertilizers, animal feed, microbial fuel cells, bioplastics, biofuels, and various other resources can be recovered from food waste. Globalization has led to energy crises; therefore, biofuel recovery from this sector is one of the most promising ways to battle the energy crisis. This work draws attention to such useful products extracted from food waste in order to make a greener environment. Various technical aspects, preparation strategies, advantages, and future scope of resource recovery from food waste have been discussed.

摘要
