摘要

The generation of food waste and its proper disposal is a global issue in the modern world. Therefore, the reuse of these food wastes for the generation of some useful products is highly appreciated. Recent research has explored different innovative ways to reuse food waste, amongst which synthesis of nanoparticles using food waste as precursors has drawn the special attention of researchers worldwide. The utilization of nanoparticles synthesized from different food waste in different fields, such as medicine, agriculture, and environmental remediation, has also been studied. This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the utilization of food waste in the synthesis of nanoparticles. It discusses different synthesis methods employed, characterization of synthesized nanoparticles, and applications of these food waste-derived nanoparticles in different fields. The utilization of food waste for the synthesis of nanoparticles can not only reduce environmental pollution but also create value-added products with high potential applications.
