In the digital age in which we live, computer security is one of the most important issues. The use of Internet and the growing number of devices connected to the Internet, as well as trends towards teleworking or business policies such as BYOD, have increased the possibilities of being victims of technological threats and vulnerabilities. Which mainly puts at risk unauthorized access to personal data. Therefore, it is important to implement computer security mechanisms that minimize IT risks, and ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data, whether for organizations or end users. This work presents the development of a mobile application based on ransomware technology. The software was developed applying the cascade development methodology using tools such as Java Code Conventions, and Android Studio IDE. The functionality and performance tests of encryption and data backup algorithm were carried out on mid- and high-range mobile devices with Android platforms from version 4.0. In general, the results showed high effectiveness in data encryption, being compatible with all file types. Users perceived the mobile application with a high level of ease of use and handling.
