Radiology Overview: Defining Radiology and Stakeholders in the Radiology Enterprise
摘要
The organizational complexity of the radiology organization is commonly underappreciated in planning, implementation, improvement, and expansion of medical imaging services in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) and medically underserved communities. For radiology health equity to be achieved, it is essential that the full dynamics of the radiology enterprise be analyzed with integration of all stakeholders necessary for project execution. The inclusion of stakeholders across the radiology enterprise helps to bridge the full range of specialized personnel who must operate in synchrony to deliver safe and effective imaging. Understanding these stakeholders in terms of who they are, their goals, perspectives, obstacles, resources, and opportunities is vital for partnership-building to bridge key areas of expertise and experience. Therefore, this chapter sets out to delineate the actors and processes constituting a radiology enterprise so that stakeholders can be engaged in productive collaborations to accomplish health equity objectives. We aim to cover the practical and strategic pitfalls arising in stakeholder relations and communications that can impede progress or enable success in global health radiology collaborations.
