Pediatric radiology is unique in its attention to the diagnostic imaging needs of the children of the world. In low-resource settings, it is important that the challenging needs of the pediatric patient are addressed through appropriate expertise, training, and equipment. This chapter helps focus on those challenges, takes a systemic approach to common clinical diseases seen in low-resource settings, and, finally, reviews some specific diseases associated with high morbidity and mortality in the global pediatric population.
