As discussed in the previous chapter, light exhibits dual behavior, as a particle or a wave, depending on the experiment performed. In this chapter, we explore the wave nature of light in the analysis and design of optical systems. This chapter focuses on the use approximate methods to analyze optical systems by employing geometrical properties and laws governing the propagation of light rays. Through this approach, we trace light rays through space and optical components used in imaging systems.

摘要

As discussed in the previous chapter, light exhibits dual behavior, as a particle or a wave, depending on the experiment performed. In this chapter, we explore the wave nature of light in the analysis and design of optical systems. This chapter focuses on the use approximate methods to analyze optical systems by employing geometrical properties and laws governing the propagation of light rays. Through this approach, we trace light rays through space and optical components used in imaging systems.
