Identifying Intangible Assets in Organizations: A Review of Existing Technology-driven Approaches and Proposal of a New One That Improves IC Visibility
摘要
Intellectual capital is a lever for improving a country’s gross domestic product, and the value of intangible assets in the digital era is beyond question. The value hidden in every single organization can be exposed by discovering and cataloging intangible assets into the different branches of intellectual capital. How good are current technologies at pinpointing intangible assets? In this chapter, we introduce the technologies that are being used to locate intangible assets and look at how they live up to this challenge. We then describe a new mechanism that we have designed, which has proven, through several case studies, to be very effective for improving the visibility of the intellectual capital of organizations.
