Ultrasound training during residency varies based on specialty. Emergency medicine has developed one of the most comprehensive curricula based on American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) guidance and Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements. This chapter discusses the required assets for successful deployment including curriculum, faculty, equipment, and competency assessment. Included in this chapter is also a meaningful comparison of other specialties regarding the progress of residency ultrasound training requirements and recommendations.
