Facilitation of a functional point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) workflow is a key component of successful POCUS program management. Workflow integration may be done within a single department or system-wide within a large healthcare organization. We discuss how to successfully begin and manage a POCUS workflow process including budgeting, design, and implementation. Specifically, we focus on the various imaging workflow designs, picture archiving and communications system (PACS)/vendor neutral archive (VNA) and electronic health record (EHR) integration, and optimizing this process to enhance the clinical workflow.
