Greenstone Belts in the Guianas
摘要
In spite of the enormous amounts of data and their geotectonic interpretation of the Amazonian Craton produced by the Brazilians, geological research in Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Venezuela and the Brazilian state of Amapá went largely its own way, focusing rather on the stratigraphy, structure and mineral deposits in the greenstone belts along the Atlantic coast than on their role in the continental accretion scenario. The Trans-Amazonian Orogeny between 2.26-1.98 Ga was the main tectonic event shaping their part of the shield.
