We study the convergence of a discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method applied to a class of nonlinear parabolic equations that can possibly degenerate. We introduce the results from our previous work where the analysis is done for Richards’ equation, which covers the considered problem. We present a series of numerical experiments and compare them with the mentioned theoretical results. In addition, we provide a numerical study not supported by the theory.

摘要

We study the convergence of a discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method applied to a class of nonlinear parabolic equations that can possibly degenerate. We introduce the results from our previous work where the analysis is done for Richards’ equation, which covers the considered problem. We present a series of numerical experiments and compare them with the mentioned theoretical results. In addition, we provide a numerical study not supported by the theory.
