This chapter reveals the intriguing evolution of teaching contents of international business through a comprehensive review of 64 IB textbooks published between 1966 and 2022. This analysis was supplemented by a study of 70 syllabi collected from members of the Academy of International Business (AIB) and a comprehensive survey of relevant scholarly work. Through a combination of content and word-count analysis, we show the thematic shifts in IB teaching over time, highlighting the increasing attention to three dimensions: cultural, strategic, and ethical issues. Common topics such as trade, finance, and multinational enterprises remain core but newer themes like globalization, sustainability, and digitalization have become more relevant over time. These analyses also help us to uncover trends in IB teaching materials and methods, which increasingly integrate case studies, project-based learning, and digital platforms, reflecting a shift toward more experiential and technology-driven learning environments.

摘要
