The aim of this chapter is to present a detailed description of the empirical research created for the needs of the present monograph, the general objective of which was to investigate the relationship between foreign language enjoyment and foreign language anxiety among Polish secondary grammar school students learning English as a FL. The chapter begins with the research rationale, together with the research questions and hypotheses. The method adopted in order to conduct the study is presented in the following section. The chapter goes on to present the analyses of the study results and outlines the most important findings. The results section is divided into three subsections: quantitative results obtained through the questionnaires, qualitative results obtained by means of open-ended questions, and qualitative data from the interviews. The chapter concludes with a discussion of the results with references to the hypotheses and the research questions, and the study limitations.
