The University of Debrecen is located in the city of Debrecen in Eastern Hungary and has 13 faculties, nearly 30,000 students, and a teaching staff of about 1700 lecturers and researchers. The University of Debrecen was one of the first among Hungarian higher education institutions declaring a Sustainable Development Strategy in 2008. This chapter presents the results from the 295 student responses. The main focus of the university is on the social dimension which is the most addressed, followed by the economic one. The ranking of the competences shows that Systems thinking, followed by Inter-personal relations and collaboration, Justice, responsibility, and ethics, Anticipatory thinking, and Inter-disciplinary work were ranked the highest. The ranking of the pedagogical approaches resulted in Lecturing, Case Studies, and Project- or Problem-based learning being ranked the highest. The three competences mostly developed by pedagogical approaches were Assessment and evaluation, Strategic action, and Tolerance for ambiguity and uncertainty. The three pedagogical approaches that developed the most competences were Supply chain/Life cycle analysis, Eco-justice and community, and Traditional ecological knowledge. The results show some insights into the implications of education for sustainability that should be considered in the different faculties and institutes of the university. The results also present a snapshot of key pedagogical approaches that have been undertaken at the University to develop sustainability competences, and also outline those pedagogical approaches that seem to be the most underused in the context of some Hungarian higher education institutions during the work targeting the development of sustainability competences.

摘要
